MANAGUA, Nicaragua - Police in southern Nicaragua have seized over $3.6 million in apparent drug money hidden in a secret compartment in a truck.
Police Commissioner Luis Pérez Olivas said Friday two Nicaraguans and a Guatemalan were arrested.
One of the Nicaraguans had a previous arrest for drug trafficking and all three tested positive for traces of cocaine.
Police have seized large amounts of cash in the Central American country in the past.
In May, police seized $1.7 million in Chinandega province. In 2018, several raids netted a total of $5.5 million.
