PENTICTON -  Ellie is a pretty creative girl.

She is a Border Collie and Labrador Retriever mix. She is very smart and is a creative escape artist so she would need a secure property.

Ellie arrived at the SPCA through Dog Control with a history of straying.

Her desire to escape might be because she seems a bit nervous of new situations and really doesn't like to be alone, according to the South Okanagan/Similkameen Shelter.

Her ideal home would be with someone who is calm and has experience with lots of time to spend with Ellie. She wants a lot of love.

It is clear that she has had some formal training because she came to the shelter knowing how to sit, shake a paw, and she has wonderful leash manners.

If you are looking for a high energy, lighting fast dog that loves to chase balls, Ellie is the perfect dog for you. Her retrieving skills need some work, though. Ellie has endless energy and she is eager to please. She would make a great hiking companion or agility partner.

Come up and spend some time with Ellie if you think she may be a perfect fit for your family. You can submit an adoption application by email to penticton@spca.bc.ca or in person to 2200 Dartmouth Drive. Ellie's animal ID is 440758. For more information, you can visit the website.
