MERRITT - The missing woman the Upper Nicola Band and Okanagan Indian Band were in search for has been located.
Before she was found, Annie Joe Gottfriedson, 20, of the Upper Nicola Band was last seen Feb. 16 at noon near Nicola Street in Merritt.
“Our concerns run deep for Annie Jo and her family,” Chief Harvey McLeod said. “We are offering our support and stand in solidarity with Annie Jo’s friends and family in asking for community support.”
Gottfriedson is 5’1”, 110 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a purple sweater and blue jeans when she left her home accompanied by a young native male with short dark hair and a slim build.
“Annie Jo has spent time with our people and on our reserve,” Chief Byron Louis of the Okanagan Indian Band said. “We just want to be sure she is located safe and sound.”
Chief McLeod of the Upper Nicola Band confirmed Gottfriendson was located Tuesday afternoon.
