Last evacuation order rescinded for Mount Eneas blaze

Evacuation alerts remain in place on the Mount Eneas wildfire after the final evacuation notice was rescinded this morning, July 24, 2018.

PENTICTON - Evacuation alerts continue, but the last evacuation order for the Mount Eneas fire has been rescinded.

The District of Summerland reports today, July 24, the single remaining property under evacuation order at 35888 Garnet Valley Road has been rescinded.

The property does remain under evacuation alert, however.

Evacuation orders may re-commence should fire conditions change.

As of this morning, B.C. Wildfire was reporting the Mount Eneas fire as out of control, at 1,793 ha in size.

The lightning caused fire is currently being worked by 74 firefighters.
