A landslide has closed West Bench Hill Drive in Penticton this afternoon, April 12, 2018.

PENTICTON - A landslide is blocking the south access to West Bench Hill Drive this afternoon.
Police and fire crews are on scene, just south of the intersection of West Bench Hill Drive and Highway 97. The slide occurred around 12:50 p.m., bringing a substantial amount of debris down on the roadway.
The slide is still active, with no word on when the road will reopen.
Detour to West Bench is via Sage Mesa.
