Lake Country crash sends motorcyclist to hospital

LAKE COUNTRY – A crash between a crossover SUV and a motorcycle Friday afternoon on Highway 97 in Lake Country sent the motorcyclist to hospital.

RCMP say at about 1:22 p.m., March 11, the driver of a Ford Edge was making a left into Voyager RV near Beaver Lake Road when a southbound motorcycle hit the rear passenger side of the SUV.

The man on the bike, a 48-year-old from Lumby, was taken to hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening lower body injuries, according to a RCMP media release.

The 73-year-old driver of the Edge wasn’t hurt and was charged with failing to yield on a left turn.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, and hasn’t talked to the police yet, is asked to call the Lake Country RCMP detachment at 250-766-2288.
