A Kelowna TikTok creator has become famous for looking and acting like Eminem.
Dylan Godfrey, better known as iamdtg on the video platform, has more than 2-million followers and 44-million likes on his account.
“I just had a love for creating things, I’ve always tried to make people laugh, it’s always kind of been my thing since high school and I’ve taken it more serious in the last few years of doing it online,” he said.
The 30-year-old started by performing skits, and filming and directing music videos. In 2017, a character he created, Lil Windex, got him attention online. Those music videos gathered millions of views for him on YouTube.
In the last two weeks alone he’s gathered more than 100 million views with videos of his Eminem character.
Growing up, Godfrey idolized Eminem and the first skit took off when he decided to do himself as Eminem rhyming about a dream.
“It’s just a fun character I like to do,” he said. While the rapper has been quiet about Godfrey’s skits, other celebrities like Drake, Dr. Dre, Eminem’s half-brother brother Nathan Samra-Mathers and members of D12 have commented on or are following his account.
It’s a full-time job along with his work producing music videos.
Looking back, he never imagined he’d make a career out of rapping, making music and producing videos.

“I had a lot of social anxiety growing up and found a hard time fitting in so doing all this definitely broke me out of my shell,” he said.
He plans to continue with the Eminem character for the foreseeable future.
“That’s the best way to create the most success for yourself is to run with something that makes sense for people to come to your page and know what they’re going to see,” he said.
One of his favourite TikToks to film was one with his eight-year-old son. The pair took turns filming each other’s parts, he said.
“He was really excited about it and he did a great acting job in it as well,” he said.
Godfrey also recently included his nine-month-old daughter in a video and it gathered thousands of likes and millions of views.
