Kelowna RCMP raided a home, made two arrests and seized numerous weapons earlier this month.
The Proactive Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant in the 1300-block of Sutherland Avenue on March 13, according to a press release from police.
The raid was related to a drug trafficking and firearms investigation. Officers searched the home and the surrounding area where they found three handguns, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and more than 25 other weapons including crossbows, brass knuckles, knives, and realistic replica handguns.
A 41-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested during the search but were released from custody as police continue to investigate.
“The Kelowna RCMP detachment and its PEU will continue to target, investigate and disrupt local drug traffickers in order to hold those who negatively impact the safety of our community accountable,” Insp. Corey Kilborn said in the release.
