Kelowna police seek information on suspects in an assault

KELOWNA - Police are turning to the public for information on two men accused of physical assault in Kelowna earlier this week.

On Apr. 27, the victim of an apparent assault went to the police station in Kelowna to report the incident near St. Paul Street and Coronation Avenue.

The alleged assault took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 25.

RCMP wrote in a media release that the victim was alone in the area when he got involved in a verbal exchange with two men. The victim accused them of throwing a milkshake at his parked vehicle. The encounter quickly escalated to physical aggression, where both men reportedly grabbed and struck the victim several times during the struggle which continued for a matter of minutes.

“The 29-year-old victim continues to heal from the injuries he sustained,” says RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey in a media release. “Our investigators believe that the suspect or suspects, one of whom had been wearing a hat, may have been inebriated at the time of the struggle.”

If you witnessed this incident or have any information that may aid police in the ongoing investigation, contact Const. Amanda Bain from the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.

To remain entirely anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leave a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
