Four full days of free fun are happening at a park in Kelowna on the May long weekend, and dog lovers won’t want to miss out on it.

Kelowna Kennel Club Annual Dog Show will be held at Parkinson Recreation Park where people from all over the province and beyond will show their purebred dogs in all breed championship shows, all breed obedience trials, all breed rally trials and junior handling sweepstakes.

“Normally there’s a lot of foot traffic at these shows,” said kennel club spokesperson Marissa Johnson. “It’s nice to see people bringing family and looking at good examples of the breeds that might be most suitable for their family. We want people to have something fun to do on the long weekend.”

Johnson said clapping for the dogs showing is encouraged. She said sunscreen and water are must-haves at the event with high temperatures predicted.

The show spans across four full days, from May 19 to May 22, starting at 8 a.m. and ending at roughly 4 p.m. The park is located at 1800 Parkinson Way.

There will be bathrooms available, lots of parking and vendors selling dog-related products, like shampoos and grooming tools.
