Kelowna bus shelters targeted by vandals

Thirty-seven transit shelters have been damaged in Kelowna over the past several weeks and police need a little help figuring out who's doing it.

Police believe a grey sedan-style car may be involved in at least some of the incidents, Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a release.

“The damage seems to be happening primarily extremely late at night," she said. "We are in the process of reviewing surveillance video from the areas, and we are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.”

The type and extent of the damage was not detailed in the news release.

Most of the damage has been to shelters in the areas of Gordon Drive, Lakeshore, Glenmore and Springfield Roads.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppers.net.
