Members of the BC United Party for the Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding will be selecting a candidate for the next provincial elections at the end of the month.

Those wishing to have a say in this election must become members of the riding association by Nov. 3, the deadline for members who will be allowed to vote during the internal election. The election will take place in person on Nov. 25, and the four names on the ballot will be Binny Boparai, Bal Grewal, Amanda Shatzko, and Pavneet Singh.

“They are all deeply committed to representing the people of Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream in the Legislature and putting forward a positive vision for the future of the region on key issues such as housing, affordability, health care, and public safety,” Lindsay Coté, from BC United, said.

Anyone who has lived in BC for over six months and is over the age of 14 can become a member of the party to join the riding association to cast a ballot during these elections.

Historically, the region this new riding covers has voted overwhelmingly for the BC Liberals — now BC United — so this vote will be of significant importance for the 2024 election.

The 2024 BC Election will take place on or before Oct. 19, 2024, and whoever wins these internal elections will be representing the BC United party for the Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding during these elections.
