Kamloops transit changes coming in the summer

June 16, 2017 - 2:30 PM

KAMLOOPS - Bus schedules in Kamloops are changing due to seasonal ridership dips and public input.

Usually there are only reductions in service in Kamloops but thanks to input from residents, four routes will see increases starting June 25. The 1 Tranquille, 3 Westsyde, 7 Aberdeen and 9 Gleneagles will all be getting additional trips added to the schedule during peak hours, according to a media release from B.C. Transit.

Service along the 9 Gleneagles will also be changing after 5:45 p.m., moving to a trip every half hour. This is a slight reduction on the number trips in the evening and changes when busses will be travelling.

The 7 Aberdeen will also have a slight route change, using Battle Street after 10 p.m. when it travels from downtown to Aberdeen.

B.C. Transit says there will be a reduction to routes serving Thompson Rivers University, but doesn’t give any details in the release.
