Kamloops soccer parents scored big when they checked a lottery ticket between tournament games.

When Michael Strange stopped at a local mall between soccer games, he was surprised to see so many zeros on his Maxmillions ticket.

“I thought we only won $10 because I didn’t have my glasses on,” he said in a BCLC news release issued today, July 11. “I checked it again and realized there were a lot more zeros than $10!”

He kept the news to himself until after the tournament was over.

“It’s life-changing… we’re speechless. It will upgrade our life and will add financial security in a topsy-turvy world,” Strange said.

Michael and Jennifer Strange purchased their ticket from the Summit Drive Shoppers Drug Mart. They won the $1 million prize in a June 3 draw.

The new millionaires are planning to buy a new car and renovate their home, according to the release.
