KAMLOOPS - Kamloops RCMP are investigating a recent homicide, but aren't saying much about it.

There was a large presence of police in the Lac Du Bois area on Saturday, Oct. 6, and Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Darren Michels says officers were at an unidentified address on Popp Street.

Michels says RCMP are currently engaged in a homicide investigation and cannot release any further details.

"We want to let the general public know there is no danger to the public, as it is believed the people involved were known to one another," Michels says.

RCMP aren't saying who the victim of the homicide is, who the suspect or suspects are or if they have suspects, or confirm when the homicide happened.

Michaels says more information about the case will be released to the public later this week.
