Kamloops police are investigating after getting a report of a suspicious note soliciting sexual relations.
The note referenced a “young lady” and payment, as well as a meeting place on Southill Street, according to a release..
Officers attended the location and found a person of interest. That suspect has since been questioned as part of the investigation.
Before police were notified, the note had been shared to social media.
“Because police were promptly notified of this incident, officers were able to investigate and collect information which may be beneficial should a similar occurrence be reported,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, said in a press release. “We are aware that there was some discussion about the note on social media prior to police attendance, and encourage anyone with knowledge about this or similar occurrences in the future, to avoid pursuing the matter independently and to please contact police as soon as possible.”
The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is encouraging the public to contact police if they come across any concerning letters in the future.
