Kamloops RCMP catch Valleyview stabbing suspect

A man was taken to hospital and a suspect was arrested after a stabbing in Kamloops’ Valleyview neighbourhood earlier this week.

Kamloops RCMP were called to a stabbing in the 1700-block of the Trans-Canada Highway East at around 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, according to a press release from police.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim had reportedly approached a vehicle in a gas station parking lot when a confrontation happened. The assault happened shortly after outside of a nearby restaurant.

“Thanks to the quick response and investigational efforts of the responding officers, police were able to locate the vehicle and arrest a suspect,” Kamloops RCMP media liaison officer Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

The suspect is a Kamloops man who was released with a court date and conditions, and RCMP anticipate charge recommendations. Police did not reveal the identities of anyone involved.

Anyone who witnessed or has information related to this incident, including dash cam or security footage, has been asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-6183.
