KAMLOOPS – A man has been arrested by Kamloops Rural RCMP in connection to a robbery at a local liquor store.
Police were called to a robbery on Feb. 27 at approximately 11:06 p.m. at Halston Liquor Store. One male had entered the store and indicated there was a second male outside with a gun, police say.
The suspect stole cash, liquor and cigarettes before departing the liquor store. A perimeter was set up and the Police Dog Unit attended the search. A short time later, police arrested a 39 year-old male just off Tranquille Road and 8 street. He was than transported to the city cells.
“He was arrested and found to be in possession of all the cash, liquor and 24 packages of cigarettes,” Staff Sgt. Doug Aird says in a RCMP press release.
The suspect is known to police in the Lower Mainland, and is set to appear in court on Feb. 28.
He faces numerous possible charges, including robbery.
