KAMLOOPS - It was a busy night for RCMP who investigated a stabbing and a robbery in separate incidents.
Around 8 p.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to a 911 call to the South Shore for a man who was stabbed in Sahali. There they found the victim outside the home with multiple stab wounds. They also found the alleged perpetrator there as well, trying to leave the home.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries and the 25-year-old suspect was arrested. Staff Sgt. Ed Preto says the two men knew each other and got into a physical altercation which led to the stabbing.
"The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit is continuing the investigation," Preto says. "The suspect will be held in custody to go before a judge."
Then at 1:16 a.m. police were called to a fast food restaurant where a man allegedly used a firearm to rob the place of cash. Preto says police, including a police service dog, were dispatched to the 1800 block of East Trans Canada Highway but were unable to locate the lone suspect. He was dressed in black and wore a white balaclava.
They continue to investigate.
