A Kamloops man has a court date today in relation to a suspicious van fire in the city's downtown last week.
Police were contacted by Kamloops firefighters after a van fire at around 8 a.m., Feb. 23, in the 700 block of St. Paul Street, according to an RCMP news release.
Officers located a suspect nearby in the 300 block of St. Paul Street and arrested him.
Troy Mitchell Felix, 27, is charged with one count of arson related to intentionally or recklessly causing damage or explosion to property and one count of theft of a portable battery booster, RCMP said.
Felix is scheduled to appear in court today, Feb. 28.
