KAMLOOPS - Communities across the country, including here in Kamloops, are organizing vigils to remember the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting victims.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, a gunman opened fire at a Pittsburgh Synagogue killing 11 people, according to The Associated Press.

The Jewish Community Centre of Kamloops will host a vigil tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m.

“In the wake of yet another act of domestic terrorism, this time against the Jewish Community in Pittsburgh, the Kamloops Jewish Community Centre is calling on all concerned citizens along with leaders of all faiths and cultural groups to attend a vigil to remember and support all the victims of Pittsburgh,” Jewish Community Centre president Heidi Coleman says in a media release.

The vigil, which also will be a celebration of diversity, will be held at the Pavilion Theatre at 1025 Lorne St. and will include representatives from the city, along with other community organizations.

"We are also taking this opportunity to celebrate the cultural, religious and LGBTQS diversity that we embrace in Kamloops," Coleman says in the release.
