KAMLOOPS - Travellers in Kamloops may be pleased to know new stops are being added to Air Canada's flight schedule next spring.
Vantage Airport Group, which manages the Kamloops Airport, says in a news release that Air Canada Rouge released its schedule today, Dec. 1, which includes new non-stop service to Toronto from Kamloops Airport.
Heather McCarley, managing director of Kamloops Airport, says in the release that staff is thrilled Air Canada Rouge is launching the new service.
“This is an important connection for Kamloops," she says. "Thanks to Air Canada’s global network, it opens up our region to travellers coming from all corners of Canada and around the world with one ticket and one stop."
President of passenger airlines at Air Canada Benjamin Smith says more than 535 seats and up to nine daily flights will be flying non-stop from Kamloops Airport to three of Canada's hubs: Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.
Air Canada Rouge's Kamloops services will operate using a 136-seat Airbus and the initial schedule to the hubs is three times per week, per route, from June 2018 to October 2018.
