KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops woman found a unique way to get around the city the other day.
A video posted to Facebook shows an elderly woman on a mobility scooter being pulled with an orange towing strap by a pickup truck in Westsyde last week.
Jonah Harris says he posted the video sent to him by a friend on the group “Westsyde - It’s our community”. His friend was riding his motorcycle down the street when he saw the woman pass by.
When he took a closer look at the video, Harris says he couldn’t believe what he was watching.
“They were cruising at about 25 kilometres an hour believe it or not,” Harris says.
Eventually his friend was able to catch up at a stop sign and his friend offered to help the driver load the scooter into pickup.
“They were an older couple and he figured they wouldn’t be able to do it, so he asked and they said ‘Oh no, no we are good’ and then she took off on the scooter,” he says.
"That was an interesting one for sure," Harris says with a laugh.
