A tractor trailer has caught the attention of the B.C. Highway Patrol after it was seen taking a risky maneuver between Kamloops and Princeton.
A 21-second video posted to Twitter on Dec. 2 captures the risky maneuver along Highway 5A, showing one transport truck overtake another along a short straightaway. The lines in the middle of the road remain double-solid throughout.
The person who shared the footage called it reckless driving that is “putting all the other drivers in danger.”
Shortly after the video was published, B.C. Highway Patrols responded to say commanders in the area have been advised.
“The words dangerous and unprofessional come to mind,” says the Tweet from B.C. Highway Patrols. “Please don't sacrifice safety for speed – we get the pressures you are under. B.C. can't afford long (highway) closures due to (commercial motor vehicle) crashes. Please slow down."
Highway 5A is currently experiencing larger volumes of traffic due to the closure of the Coquihalla Highway.
