A video showing two playful river otters in the Shuswap has gathered more than 2,000 views on YouTube.

The two river otters were spotted playing on the thin ice of a beaver pond along the Foreshore Trail in Salmon Arm, according to video creator Harold Noakes.

The otters' playtime was recorded Dec. 1.

The North American river otter feels at home in the water and on land. It makes its home in a burrow near the water's edge, and can thrive in river, lake, swamp, or estuary ecosystems, according to National Geographic.
