Kelowna contractor's multiple lies about reno cost homeowner $1M
Wow! I had my house built from scratch in Sechelt. I paid the district $1200 for the building permit, then set to work having the trees and bushes removed and the hole for the foundation prepared. I paid after the job was done. Each section of the house was paid for when it was finished, never before. I had the district building inspectors come after each completion so we could move on to the next section. I bought all the materials myself, from baseboard heaters, lumber, roofing, siding, windows, fixtures, appliances, counter tops, bathroom fixtures, hardwood flooring etc. That way I knew what the price was. Never would I pay in advance for anything. Now, of course, this was in Sechelt but I am sure the contractors there are no more honest than here. Now I am here and I’ve had a few renovations done like flooring, painting, lighting, electrical and I paid in full after the job has was completed. I was sad to hear she went through a lot and it took a long time, but maybe people should do business another way instead of being robbed. — Devon Johnstone, via iNFOnews.ca

Falling through the cracks: No plan after Penticton prolific offender leaves jail
A very sad story. Our son also had a mental illness. He was in a group home in Nelson, then they put him in his own unit with no support worker. He was taken advantage of and deteriorated, he did not take his medication and was found deceased in his unit. He was a good person also, but the system failed him. — Pepper ODonnell, via iNFOnews.ca
'Best bang for our buck?': BC bureaucrats making more money and working from home
Either they all work from home or they all work from their office, not including the top brass. Lower wages as they no longer have to travel, buy clothes or buy lunch. Local businesses lose money due to this work from home. Put all those who have to work from the office into one building and rent out the others at a decent price. No wonder we don’t have money for those that need it. It amazes me how much money each province is in debt, by the billions they borrow, and for what? Paper pushers are one of the main reasons. — Devon Johnstone, via iNFOnews.ca

Drivers here are terrible. They just can’t wait a minute and look at the result. — Devon Johnstone, via iNFOnews.ca
