iN PHOTOS: Two popular North Okanagan hiking trails to explore this summer

Some outdoor enthusiasts are spending the summer hitting the trails in the Thompson-Okanagan and there are many to choose from.

The North Okanagan E is just one corner of the woods with plenty of scenic trails for hiking, biking and exploring and listed in the top 21 by AllTrails.com.

Nature lovers are sharing stunning photography of their adventures along the trails that include the popular Pinnacle Lake Trail and Twin Lakes.

Pinnacle Lake Trail is a 6.9-kilometre trail that leads to an alpine lake and takes roughly three hours to complete. To access the trail, leave Vernon on Highway 6 toward Cherryville, turn left on South Fork FSR and follow the signs for Pinnacle Lake.

Twin Lakes is an 8.9-kilometre trail that takes roughly four hours to complete and features two alpine lakes. To find the trailhead leave Vernon on Highway 6 toward Cherryville and exit on North Fork Road until reaching a crossroads. Turn left and follow along until reaching the Twin Lakes parking lot.
