Spring is the perfect time to see waterfalls when the weather warms up and the ice melts.
Vernon resident Vicki Wells spent the month hiking and taking in the spring season, prompted by her new dog's need for exercise.
The first week into March she took photos along a hike up to Fintry Falls, on Westside Road between Vernon and Kelowna, one of many hikes she and her partner, and new four-legged family member are doing around the Okanagan this year.
“Around the falls there was still a lot of ice but the water is flowing,” she said. “The hike isn’t too hard, you can take a trail like we did or take a wooden staircase. Not many others were there, we had the place to ourselves."
Wells is using a trail app to find hikes to waterfalls and beautiful views of lakes.
Fintry Falls is found on a one kilometre back trail near Kelowna and is considered an easy route that takes roughly 25 minutes to complete. It's a popular area for birding, hiking, and walking.
