Photographers took advantage of the bright full Moon over the weekend, snapped photos and shared them on iNFOnews.ca's social media channels.
June's full moon, also known as the Strawberry Moon, was at fullest in the wee hours of Sunday morning, June 4, and thanks to clear skies it proved to be an excellent opportunity photo subject.
Kaleden photographer Brian Moen headed out to the astronomical observatory on White Lake Road with his camera early on Friday evening and the moon was already glowing bright.
“It’s a nice area for taking sky photos because it’s so dark and quiet there,” he said. “The night sky was totally clear, it was wonderful, a perfect evening for photographing and the moon was so bright.”
Moen enjoys taking photos of nature and the night skies and has taken “tons of photos.”
Photographers and sky watchers might want to circle their calendars for the next full moon, the Buck Moon, that will be reaching peak illumination at 10:39 a.m. Monday July 3, according to NASA.
