When people think about how their city’s bureaucrats get paid they might think about their elected officials, but city managers or chief administrative officers are usually the top earners in city hall.
Here are the numbers for who’s making the big bucks in Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton:

224: City workers in Penticton made more than $75,000 in 2024, up from 160 in 2022.

86,150: Dollars was Penticton mayor Julius Bloomfield’s salary in 2024, plus $15,000 in expenses.

274,772: Dollars was Penticton city manager Anthony Haddad’s salary in 2024.

220: Vernon staffers made more than $75,000 in 2024, up from 133 five years ago.

244,522: Dollars went to now retired Vernon chief administrative officer Patti Bridal in 2024.

116,830: Dollars hit Vernon mayor Victor Cumming’s bank account, plus more than $6,000 in expenses.

362,138: Dollars for Kelowna city manager Doug Gilchrist made him the highest paid city employee in Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton and Vernon.

142,363: Dollars went to Kelowna mayor Tom Dyas in 2024.

146: Firefighters made more than $75,000 in 2024 in Kelowna.

120,059: Dollars is Kamloops mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson normal salary, but he's received pay cuts for his controversial conduct.

302,398: Dollars for Kamloops CAO Byron McCorkell in 2024.

60.4: Million dollars in total for employees making more than $75,000 in Kamloops in 2024.
