WEST KELOWNA - A suspected impaired West Kelowna driver allegedly crashed into a pickup truck and two homes in the city last night.

West Kelowna RCMP say officers responded to a report of property damage on Logan Court at around 6:36 p.m., Sunday, May 26.

Officers arrived at the cul-de-sac where they found a red Pontiac G5 with front-end damage that appeared to have reversed through shrubbery and into the outer wall of a home, according to an RCMP media release.

“Investigators also determined that a black GMC Canyon pickup truck and a house situated across the roadway also sustained property damages after being impacted by the Pontiac sedan,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release. “It’s very fortunate that no one was injured as a result of the chain reaction crash.”

Police demanded the driver take a breathalyzer test, after they detected an odour of alcohol on her breath. Her breath sample was over the legal limit.

The 52-year-old West Kelowna driver, was handed a 90-day driving prohibition under the Immediate Roadside Prohibition program.

The woman appeared to be uninjured from the incident. Her vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded.

If you witnessed this incident and have not yet spoken to police call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
