Kelowna RCMP arrested someone after they broke into a business on Sunday and made themselves a sundae.
RCMP responded to a business alarm in the 500-block of Highway 33 West in Rutland around 4 a.m. on June 2, according to a press release. RCMP don't identify the business, but the photo provided shows an ice cream sundae in a DQ cup.
When officers got there they quickly realized there was a break and enter in progress, found the suspect in the store and arrested them.
“When the police officer arrived, he witnessed the suspect making a chocolate sundae behind the counter,” Sgt. Judith Bertrand said in the release. “The suspect was taken into custody without incident.”
Police investigated and determined the attempted ice cream thief broke the front door and tried to get into the locked fridge before making themself a chocolate sundae.
The sundae maker is going to have to attend court in a few weeks since they caused a significant amount of damage to the store.
