KAMLOOPS - He’s a big hockey fan of the Kamloops Blazers who can now say he’s been a member of the team.

The Western Hockey League Blazers announced earlier today the signing of Alex Kilba to a one day contract to join the hockey team, and he’ll be part of the Blazers today when they host the Vancouver Giants at 7 p.m. tonight at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops.

Twenty-six year old Alex Kilba is a lifelong Kamloops Blazers fan and current season ticket holder. He’s an exceptional fan, not only for his loyalty but also because he’s been living with Spina Bifida, a birth defect that stopped his spine from fully forming, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He’s been wheelchair bound his whole life.

Kilba hasn’t let that stop him from enjoying the game - and the team he loves. He’ll be given a Kamloops jersey with his name and number in addition to attending pregame video session and meetings.

Kilba will also come to the ice with the team prior to game time and be announced as part of the starting line-up.
