Hope RCMP reaching out for tips in suspicious death

A man was found dead in Hope and police have determined the death is suspicious and are seeking the public’s help.

Hope RCMP received a report about an unresponsive person down an embankment in the area of Two Mile Creek along Highway 3 in Hope on September 17, 2023, according to a press release.

When police arrived they found a 38-year-old man dead. RCMP along with the BC Coroners’ Service determined the death is suspicious.

“Determining what lead to the tragic passing of this individual would help provide closure to the family which is why we are making an additional plea for the public’s assistance," Hope RCMP Sgt. Mike Sargent said in the release.

RCMP haven't released the victim's identity.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information about this death and anyone with dash cam footage of the Two Mile Creek area between Sept. 15 to 17, 2023 to contact Hope RCMP at 604-796-7750. Tips can be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
