KAMLOOPS - Police have conducted another search in connection to an east Kamloops home where explosives were found last week.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release the detachment's serious crime unit and crime reduction unit executed a search warrant in Westsyde Jan. 19.

Shelkie says this home, located on Enzo Road, is related to the search of the home on Badger Drive in Dallas, where police found firearms and explosive devices on Jan. 18.

Several items were seized from the home in Westsyde, and once the Forensic Identification Section has completed their investigation, the province's Prosecution Service will assess the evidence and determine whether or not to lay criminal charges.

“This is another reminder to landlords to properly screen tenants. Always confirm the identity of the potential renter and check all of their references. In the case of the residence on Badger Driver, there was significant damage done to the rental and the landlord must now start the eviction process,” Shelkie says.

The evidence seized from both search warrants is still under investigation.
