Canada's women's hockey team drops exhibition game to U.S. in shootout

ST. PAUL,, - American Hilary Knight scored the deciding goal in a shootout as the U.S. women's hockey team edged Canada 3-2 on Saturday in the fifth pre-Olympic exhibition game between the two nations.

Kelli Stack and Alex Carpenter scored as the American squad picked up its third straight win against Canada.

Marie-Philip Poulin, making her first appearance of the exhibition schedule after an ankle injury, and Megan Agosta-Marciano scored for Canada in the third period to tie the game at 2-2 and force overtime.

Canada's Charline Labonte made 27 saves in regulation time and overtime while American Jessie Vetter stopped 37 shots for the victory.

Canada plays the U.S. in the final game of the exhibition series at Air Canada Centre on Monday.
