KAMLOOPS - An afternoon drive following an afternoon drink left a parked car damaged and a large power pole sheared off Friday.
A 45-year-old man had been drinking earlier in the afternoon Friday, July 24, before getting behind the wheel of a heavy duty Chevrolet 4x4 truck with a large bush bumper, according to Staff Sgt. Edward Preto of the Kamloops RCMP.
The bumper sideswiped a parked car in the 900-block of Lorne Street and then sheared off a large power pole, which disrupted power to area residents. No one was in the parked car, which suffered ‘extensive damage.’
The truck was located in the 1000-block of Fraser Street and the driver was located nearby and was arrested for failing to stop at the scene of an accident and dangerous driving.
A parked car was sideswiped Friday afternoon, July 24.
