A Kelowna criminal is back in custody after he was caught breaching his probation again.

He was caught driving while disqualified and breaching his probation on Aug. 24, with charges approved six days later, according to court records.

Kelowna RCMP said he was scheduled to appear in court this morning, less than a year after he cut off his ankle monitor and fled a Surrey recovery home to the Okanagan.

Aronson has a long history of criminal activity in the Okanagan. In 2021, he was sentenced for dangerous driving after he sped erratically onto Bennett Bridge and crashed into a pickup truck.

The crash was in 2019, which put him in the hospital with numerous injuries. At the time he enjoyed just hours of freedom, having been released from prison for a similar incident which ended with him being shot by police during a road rage incident and chase earlier that year.

His criminal history spans more than a decade, with numerous breaches, charges for driving and more violent incidents like assaults and robberies, according to court records.

Kelowna RCMP has not provided details regarding the circumstances of his most recent arrest, but did notify the public that the "high-profile subject" was back in custody, Aug. 30.
