Kelowna RCMP are releasing few details about a sensitive investigation after officers with the heavily-armed Emergency Response Team made in arrest in Rutland this morning.

Police arrested a person at approximately 10 a.m. today, Feb. 1, outside a business at the Plaza 33 strip mall in the 300 block of Highway 33, according to an RCMP news release.

RCMP said one of the surrounding businesses, including a nearby financial institution, were involved in the incident and there's no concern for public safety.

"The investigation is sensitive in nature, remains ongoing and with that no further details regarding what our officers are investigating will be provided at this time," the release read.

RCMP promise to release more information to the public "as it becomes available."
