KAMLOOPS - This week’s unsettled weather conditions are expected to come to an end with the return of sunny skies and warmer temperatures on the weekend, but that’s only part of the story. It's about to heat up out there.

“Enjoy the moderate temperatures this weekend as next week’s daytime highs are expected to be in the low- to mid-30s," Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says.

Lundquist says the hot, sunny weather could be sticking around, with forecast models seeing no new weather systems on the horizon for the next 10 days.

High temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are normally around 25 Celsius.

The city still has to get through another two days of unsettled conditions before the sun comes out and the temperature begins to rise.

The forecast for today, June 14, calls for a high of 12 C with a 30 per cent chance of showers and the a possibility thundershowers.

Tomorrow there is a 40 per cent chance of showers and again a possibility of thundershowers with a high of 22 C.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mainly sunny with highs pushing 30 C. On Monday look for a high of 33 C.
