Globetrotters to take direction from fans in Penticton

Next month the audience will be the one giving the Harlem Globetrotters their marching orders on the court.
The famed basketball troupe will be dunking and dribbling for their fans at the South Okanagan Events Centre, Penticton, Feb. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. for their You Write the Rules world tour everyone is invited to log on at http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com/rule.
Visitors to the site can vote on whether the Globetrotters will use two basketballs, score double the points, have four-point shots 35 feet from the basket, be sent to a penalty box or play five-on-six. That's five Globetrotters against six opponents.
This world tour will mark the Globetrotters 87th consecutive year of performing for basketball and comedy fans alike. And this time fans will decide the rules for the game that could affect the final outcome.
