WEST KELOWNA - A long-neglected section of Glenrosa Road and the latest phase of the Gellatly Road makeover are the top priority for next year in West Kelowna.
Councillors chose Gellatly Phase IV, valued between $5.5 and $7 million and Glenrosa Glen Abbey Place to McGinnis Road worth $4.8 to $7.5 million in a run-off vote after previously being unable to agree on priorities.
The selection of the two projects was the final step in a “reprioritization” of West Kelowna’s 20-year road development cost charge program adopted in 2016, but said by staff to be already out of date due to rising construction costs.
The two were chosen from a list of six put forth by staff and chosen using a ranking system by councillors.
They will be designed and tendered in 2019 with construction to begin in 2020.
