KELOWNA - The Okanagan and Kamloops are about to warm up, starting … now.

Environment Canada meteorologist Jonathan Bau says things are looking up and the cold system that lingered over the southern Interior is moving on.

The mercury rose to about 26 C throughout the Okanagan on Saturday but it’s expected to climb to 30 C on Sunday, under mainly sunny skies.

Expect to see similar conditions Monday through Wednesday next week, as the forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the low 30s.

In Kamloops it’s very similar and Sunday is expecting a high temperature of  32 C. That weather pattern is expected to carry on through the week

The sun is expected to continue well into next week, with sunshine and highs of 32 C forecast for Monday through Wednesday.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 27 C and lows of 12 C. Kamloops’s normal high and low for this part of July is 29 C and 14 C.
