As the Canadian Armed Forces moves troops and equipment where they are needed in the fight against wildfires in B.C., motorists can expect some delays this weekend.
The army is conducting a road move of around 80 personnel, and their equipment, from 100 Mile House to Vernon along Highway 1 and Highway 97 tomorrow, Aug. 28. according to a Land Task Force Vernon media release.
The soldiers were helping to fight the Flat Lake wildfire, and will now be based at the Vernon Cadet Training Centre as the assist in the fight against the White Rock Lake wildfire.

The troops and equipment will be moved in large green Medium Support Vehicles and multiple pickup trucks in small groups.
The military said the convoys could create congestion or slowdowns for drivers.
Motorists are asked to be patient and give the military vehicles plenty of space.
The Land Task Force is participating in Operation LENTUS, the Canadian Armed Forces’ response to natural disasters.
