KAMLOOPS - Gas prices hit a dollar per litre earlier this week and they continue to drop heading into the weekend, putting Kamloops prices as some of the cheapest in the province.

According to Gas Buddy, an online consumer reporting website, about eight stations are current under 95 cents per litre, with Costco again the lowest, at 90.9 cents per litre. Many more stations are sitting at 95.9 cents per litre today, Nov. 20.

This is a five to seven cent drop from Wednesday, when several stations dropped below a dollar and many stations dropped to 101.9 cents per litre.

Kamloops is well below the B.C. average gas price right now, 114.7 cents per litre, and even below the Canadian average of 101.4 cents per litre. Typically Kamloops is with a couple of cents of the Canadian average.

Gas prices are currently sitting around 107.9 to 109.9 cents per litre at many Okanagan gas stations while Merritt stations vary from 108.9 to 112.9 cents per litre.
