Former Kamloops RCMP officer charged with drug trafficking

KAMLOOPS - A former Kamloops RCMP officer has been charged with dealing cocaine while she was a member of the force.

Randi Love is facing three charges of trafficking a controlled substance. The incidents occurred last year while she was still an officer.

The RCMP first became aware of the allegations surrounding Love on July 16, 2015, RCMP E-division media relations officer Rob Vermeulen says. An investigation was launched and Love was suspended from duty on Aug. 7.

Love submitted her discharge papers last October and is no longer a member of the force.

She will appear in court on the drug trafficking charges June 16.

Love was in court previously to testify against her ex-boyfriend,Trent Wessner. The former Mountie was found guilty of fraud back in 2013.

In that case Love told the judge Wessner had confessed to her he defrauded Costco because he was upset with an online purchase. He was handed one day in jail and a $1,250 fine. He now works as a conductor for the railway.
