KAMLOOPS - Kamloops is getting the first citywide snowfall of the year this morning.

The white stuff may not hang around in the valley bottom, as Environment Canada is forecasting a mix of rain and snow with a high of 3 C today, Dec. 2, and a low tonight of only -1 C.

With the snow comes slippery road conditions today.

Already there’ve been reports of crashs, with a two car collision on the Halston Bridge and a variety of incidents in Barnhartvale, including a semi off the road and a school bus turned sideways.

The forecast calls for cloudy weekend with similar temperatures until Sunday night, when the mercury is expected to drop to -5 C.

Next week is expected to be significantly cooler, with the forecast for Tuesday calling for sunshine, but a high of only -6 C, followed by highs of -9 on Wednesday and -8 on Thursday. Nightly lows are expected to be around -11 C.
