The Dick Hart Memorial Park Wildfire, situated 14.5 kilometres outside Kamloops, is being held.
The fire grew to 4.5 hectares since it was first spotted Saturday, April 17, said Gagan Lidhran of the Kamloops Fire Centre, but further spread beyond the existing or predetermined boundaries isn't expected.
"Some of this growth of this fire is attributed to small scale hand ignitions conducted by ground crews this afternoon to bring the fire perimeter to natural control lines," Lidhran said.
The fire is suspected to be human-caused and is under investigation.
Today, 15 BC Wildfire Suppression crews are onsite continuing suppression efforts.
No structures are threatened.
