Fan stabbed after Chargers-Broncos game says he feared he would die from 5 wounds

PUEBLO, Colo. - A Denver Broncos fan says he thought he might die when he was stabbed five times outside Sports Authority Field after the Chargers-Broncos game Dec. 12.

The Pueblo Chieftain reported Sunday that Matt DeHerrera was one of three people stabbed after a minor car collision in the parking lot.

DeHerrera says he, his brother and a friend were backing out of a parking spot when their vehicle was hit. DeHerrera says he was stabbed after getting out of the car to investigate. He says he spent five days in the hospital.

The names of his brother and the friend haven't been released.

Denver police say 29-year-old Justin Lee Manzanares was arrested for investigation of assault.

Police said they don't release victims' names and couldn't confirm DeHerrera's account.
