Fashion forward at YLW

The average fashionista may not recognize these designer labels, but those working at YLW will recognize the protective clothing gear worn by members of the YLW community as they strut down the red carpet runway at the second annual Safety Fashion Show at Kelowna International Airport (YLW).

The airport’s Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee will host a safety fashion show and barbecue during North American Safety and Health Week at 10 a.m. on May 9 to focus employees, tenants and the airport community on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.

“At YLW, safety is our number one priority,” says Airport Director Sam Samaddar. “Our families have the right to expect us all to come home uninjured at the end of the workday. This will be achieved if we all make safety our business.”

The media is invited to attend the event at 10 a.m. on Thursday May 9 at the Airport Fire Hall. Parking is available outside the brick combined operations building next to the airport terminal.
